Mini-Baccarat

For players that were not in the know, Mini-Baccarat is the smaller, lower-stakes version of Punto Banco Baccarat. This means that players will find that this version of the game normally comes with lower limits. This game is also different than the other game because while playing the game, players will not have to pick up the cards, also the table is very different because of its size. Of course, this game if very popular among many casinos around the world, especially with those that cater to Asian gamblers.

Similar to the other game, this game is a comparing card game that is played between two hands, one being the player and the other hand being the banker. Every Baccarat coup comes with three different outcomes, this includes the player having the higher score, the banker having the higher score, and a tie between both the banker and the player. This game is strictly a game of luck, and that means that players will not require a certain level of skill or have to know strategy in order to play. Every player will notice that their moves are determined by the cards that they are given.

Knowing What Your Hand is Worth

During a game of Mini-Baccarat, players will find that their cards all have a point value. Cards that are 2-9 will be worth their face value in point amount. The tens, kings, jacks, and queens will have no value, and this means that they are worth zero points. The aces are going to be worth one point, and the jokers are never used in this game. Players will find that the point system for hands is hard to figure out. Basically, if a player has a 1 and a 5 in their hand, it would be 6 points. However, a player with a 7 and a 8 in their hand would find that their hand is only 5 points. This is because the hands are valued going by the rightmost digit of the sum of their constituent cards. This means that players will at most have a point value of nine for their hand.

Rules to Learn

During the beginning of a game, the Player and the Banker will each be given two cards. If the Player, the Banker, or both of them are able to get a sum of 8 or 9 using the first two cards that they get, they will have finished the coup, and they will then have to announce the result. Of course, a natural 9 will certainly beat a natural 8 every time. However, if both of them are not able to get this, then they will have to go with the tableau, first for the Player’s rule, and then for the Banker’s.

Final Thoughts on Mini-Baccarat

Mini-Baccarat is not too complicated of a game to learn, but the point system can be a little difficult for new players at first. However, once learned, this game is a lot of fun! All in all, it is very easy to see why so many have started playing this game.
